This issue of ‘Textile Pipeline Special’
is to be regarded not so much as a follow up to the ‘Red Book 2010’, but rather as a prelude to the forthcoming
‘Red Book 2011’. It contains much of the fibre production data for 2010 and the charts
therefore show 2010 as ‘history’ rather than ‘estimate’ or 'forecast’. That said,
much of the latest textile and apparel trade data for 2010 is still being gatheredin and will feature more fully in the next
‘Red Book’. For this issue of ‘Textile Pipeline Special’ therefore the emphasis is on the two ends of the textile
pipeline in fibre volumes and the latest analysis of consumer demand in per capita terms.
